1. Overview
Dezire is an Android music player project developed by Nikhlesh Bharti. The app is designed to play and manage music available on your device. Dezire is in development, and features, integrations and data practices may change between versions.
This policy applies to the Dezire app and this website. It does not cover third-party websites or services, which have their own privacy policies.
2. Information the app may handle
Depending on the version and features you use, the app and its integrated service providers may handle:
- Music library information: track title, artist, album, duration and artwork made available by Android's media library, to display and play your music.
- App settings: preferences such as theme and playback-related settings, stored by the app on your device.
- Advertising and diagnostics data: if advertising is enabled, Google Mobile Ads and related services may process device identifiers, IP address, app interactions, diagnostics and other data as described by Google.
- Consent choices: where Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) is used, consent status and related information may be processed to manage applicable privacy choices.
- Optional external-service requests: if an external metadata or music service is enabled and used, information needed for that request (such as a search term or artist/track name) may be sent to that service.
Dezire does not currently require an account in the described app experience. If account features are introduced, this policy will be updated.
3. App permissions
Android may ask for permission to access audio files on your device. The app uses the relevant Android media permission to find, display and play music you choose to access. Permission names and behaviour can vary by Android version.
You can manage or revoke permissions in Android Settings. If you deny or revoke media access, parts of the local music library experience may not work.
4. Local music and files
Music selected from your device is used for local library display and playback. The app is not intended to upload your personal music files to Dezire servers. This does not cover third-party apps or services you separately choose to use, or future features that may change data processing.
Album artwork and metadata may be read from media files or Android's media database. Your music remains subject to the rights and licences applicable to it.
5. Advertising and consent
Some versions of Dezire may display advertisements using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). When ads are enabled, Google and its advertising partners may process information to provide, measure, limit or personalise advertising, subject to your settings, applicable law and Google's policies.
Dezire may use Google's UMP to present consent and privacy choices where required. Available choices depend on your location and applicable requirements. Read the Google Privacy Policy and AdMob privacy and messaging information.
If an ad-free paid option is offered in your app version, its availability and purchase terms will be shown in the app. This policy does not promise that every build contains ads or paid features.
6. Third-party services
Dezire may rely on third-party SDKs or services, such as Google Mobile Ads and Google's UMP consent tools. Optional music metadata integrations may also be included in some versions. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Their data practices are not controlled by Dezire.
- Google Privacy Policy
- Google Mobile Ads data disclosure
- Last.fm terms (only if a Last.fm integration is enabled)
7. Sharing and retention
Dezire does not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by third-party providers when their SDKs or services are enabled, as described above. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or to protect rights, safety and security.
Local settings and media information may remain on your device until you clear app data, uninstall the app or remove the relevant files. Retention by third-party providers is governed by their own policies and settings.
8. Data security
Reasonable measures are used in developing and operating the app to protect information. No app, device or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
9. Children's privacy
Dezire is not designed to knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to the developer, contact us using the details on the Contact page. Advertising settings and availability must comply with applicable age-related requirements and Google Play policies.
10. Your choices and privacy rights
- Manage or revoke Android permissions in device settings.
- Use consent options presented by Google UMP where available.
- Use device advertising and privacy settings to manage applicable ad preferences.
- Contact the developer with a privacy question or request concerning information provided directly to the developer.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. Data held by Google or another provider may need to be managed directly with that provider.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Dezire develops, adds integrations or changes data practices. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
12. Contact
For privacy questions, use the contact details on our Contact page. A working privacy contact email must be added before this policy is used for production.
